The Decade in Review: Top 50 Films, Part Three (21-30)

Today I present to you part three of my five-part countdown towards revealing what my favorite movie of the decade is.Before going on with the list, I would life to mention a few movies that did not make it to the list.

The three movies that I want to talk about today are three movies by Wes Anderson. Although his style is becoming a bit stale due to his over use as well as the many copy cats out there, his writing still resonates with me. The way he takes on the subject of families and the background he sets them against for some reason always make me feel satisfied.

The Royal Tenenbaums takes on the entire family with the focus on the role the father has. Everyone loves, and at the same time hates him. The Life Aquatic With Steve Zizzou is about father-son relationships and how personal matters can get in the way. The Darjeeling Limited about three brothers trying to regain a connection that they lost after their father died. Darjeeling is the one that hit closes to home although I haven’t gone through everything that those people went through. But all of them connected with me on a personal level, and I look forward to whatever Anderson has to offer.
