It feels like this month was the longest month of my life. With every day that passes in this horrid planet, I feel more and more that movies don’t matter. However, they are the only things that keep me sane, so I will continue to watch them and occasionally write about them.

So, I only watched 15 film, and the new Gilmore Girls episodes. I won’t do a full top 10 because only about 6 are worth mentioning. Continue reading

I started off the month hoping to watch a bunch of horror films, but since I was pretty much limited to whatever I could find on Netflix I only ended up watching. Sure, it’s almost half of the total that I watched, but not what I would have liked. Anyways, it was an okay month. The top two films ended up being comedies with a touch of drama from New Zealand. I also caught up with a few 2016 releases that I missed, and a couple of Christopher Guest films. Continue reading

Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker

For the last couples of weeks I’ve been binge-watching Batman Beyond. I enjoyed it a lot but one of the problems that I have with it is that this future Batman didn’t have a memorable arch nemesis. At first William Powers/Blight was set up to be that guy since he is the person responsible for the death of Terry McGinnis’s father, which is what led him to become Batman, but that conflict was resolved during the first season and he never came back. There were a lot of other recurring villains, like Inque, The Royal Flush Gang, and Mad Ben, but they just didn’t measure up to other iconic villains like Poison Ivy, Penguin, or Two-face. So, in lieu of creating a great villain for Batman Beyond’s feature-length, straight-to-video outing, they went back to the old well and brought back the baddest villain of them all to give young McGinnis his biggest challenge yet: the Joker.
